Video Trimmer

Trim short MP4, WebM, MOV, or M4V clips into downloadable WebM segments directly in your browser.

Your video preview will appear here.

Output quality

WebM output

This browser-only trimmer re-records the selected range as WebM. It does not create a lossless MP4 cut.

How to use this video trimmer

Upload a browser-supported MP4, WebM, MOV, or M4V file, preview the video, then choose the start and end time for the clip you want.

You can type exact timestamps or use the preview video and the quick buttons to set the start and end from the current playback position.

What the browser can export

This tool records the selected range into a new WebM file. It does not rewrite the original MP4, MOV, or WebM container without re-encoding.

For fast social previews, bug report clips, lightweight demos, and web assets, WebM is usually a practical browser-native output format.

Privacy-first trimming

The clip is decoded, trimmed, and recorded locally in your browser with video, canvas, and MediaRecorder APIs.

Your video is not uploaded or stored by this tool, and the generated download is created from a local object URL.

Example output

Input
Output
A 45 second MP4 screen recording
A 9 second WebM clip from the selected start and end time

The output is useful when you need to share only the important moment from a longer clip without sending the whole source file.

FAQ

Does this upload my video?

No. The video trimmer runs locally in your browser. Your source video is not uploaded or stored by this tool.

Why does it download WebM instead of MP4?

Browsers can record canvas video as WebM through MediaRecorder. MP4 trimming usually needs server-side FFmpeg or a heavier WebAssembly encoder.

Is this lossless trimming?

No. This browser-only version re-records the selected range, so it is practical and private but not a lossless container-level cut.

How long should the clip be?

For reliable browser performance, keep the selected range under one minute. Shorter clips trim faster and produce smaller downloads.
