Video to MP3 / Audio Extractor

Extract audio from MP4, WebM, MOV, or M4V clips directly in your browser, with MP3 used only when the browser supports it.

Your video preview will appear here.

MP3 support note

Browser-only MP3 recording is not universally available. If MP3 is unsupported, choose Best supported or WebM / Opus for a reliable local extraction.

How to use this audio extractor

Upload a browser-supported MP4, WebM, MOV, or M4V file, choose the start and end time, then extract the audio track as a downloadable audio file.

Use the preview player to find the moment you need, then set the start and end from the current playback position for a faster workflow.

MP3 support and browser output

Direct MP3 recording depends on the browser. When MP3 is not available, this tool uses WebM/Opus audio, which is the most reliable browser-native output.

If you specifically need an MP3 file for an older platform, you can extract audio here first and convert it with a dedicated MP3 encoder later.

Private local extraction

The video is decoded and recorded locally with the Web Audio API and MediaRecorder. The source file does not leave your device.

Extraction runs in real time, so a 30 second range usually takes about 30 seconds to record.

Example output

Input
Output
A 60 second MP4 tutorial clip
A 20 second extracted audio file from the selected range

Choose a short range when you only need the spoken explanation, background music, or a sound reference from the original video.

FAQ

Does this upload my video?

No. Audio extraction runs locally in your browser with Web Audio and MediaRecorder APIs. Your video is not uploaded or stored by this tool.

Why did I get WebM instead of MP3?

Most browsers do not expose native MP3 recording through MediaRecorder. WebM/Opus is the reliable fallback for browser-only audio extraction.

Can I extract only part of the audio?

Yes. Set the start and end time before extraction. The tool records only that selected range into the output audio file.

Why does extraction take time?

The browser plays through the selected range and records the audio stream in real time, which keeps the tool private but means long ranges take longer.
